Thank you to all of our sponsors and Skippers of the 2017 Challenge.

Special thanks go to Eric Bates, John Beaven, Neil Boughton and Martyn Spencer for allowing us to enter their yachts Rumpleteazer, Marie-Louise, Easy Tiger and Pantomime all of who successfully completed the challenge. It was a beautiful day with a very gentle breeze which meant a shorter course this year so we had to view the Eddystone from a distance going around the L4 Hands Deep Buoy instead.

Your efforts have raised us very nearly £2,000 which is extremely valuable to help us continue developing our Sail, Paddle and Power programs for Schools, Youth Groups, Young People and the wider community alike.

Please get in touch if you’d like to do the 2018 Challenge.

Finally PDSSA would like to send a massive thanks to the event organisers and The Eleanor Creeke Charitable settlement your support through this event is greatly appreciated.

Please sponsor one of our yachts to complete the challenge

PDSSA have four yachts sailing the Eddystone Pursuit Challenge this year. It is a fabulous day out on the water and weather permitting the challenge will take participants around the Eddystone rocks and lighthouse.

Please support one of our yachts by clicking an image and sponsoring their challenge.

This year we are offering our top sponsors a berth aboard one of the yachts so you too could take part. If sponsors raise £100 or more then we will get you afloat. Berths are obviously limited during the challenge so the top sponsors will go, all others will get a trip out on the yachts at another date.

The challenge is a fun and enjoyable way to raise desperately needed funds toward keeping the association running throughout the year and providing sail, paddle and power opportunities to all.

Traditional Sponsorship Forms

You can also support us with a traditional sponsorship form available to download here. Just click the button below.

IMPORTANT : We will need to declare all sponsorship totals a few days before the challenge so please keep in touch and let us know how your efforts are going. Please give us your total sponsorship by the 15th June 20:00.

Plymouth and Devon Schools Sailing Association (PDSSA) is a not for profit volunteer run water-sports activity club offering a range of Sail, Paddle and Powerboat activities. In 2015 we gained charitable status.

We take pride in offering outstanding sailing, kayaking and powerboat courses at very reasonable prices! Based at Commercial Wharf on the Barbican in the heart of Plymouth. We have a wide range of training equipment and Plymouth Sound provides a great environment for all levels of ability.

We are an RYA Recognised Training Centre and AALA Licensed. We provide a safe learning environment and have all the necessary equipment to allow you to go onto the water with confidence, whatever your ability.

For schools, youth groups and any other organisations we offer a range of activity sessions that can be run as; introductory taster sessions, regular weekly sessions or multi activity weeks. All can be tailored to match your requirement.

For individuals and families we also offer a range of club activities, holiday activities and courses. From year round, open weekly clubs through to RYA Instructor courses, we try to pack our calendar full of exciting ways to have fun, learn or try something a little different.
